The auto industry is going through a once-in-a-century transformation: electrification, software-defined vehicles, and new competitors entering the market. Every automaker has to decide what to build next with limited time and budget.
What's often missing from those decisions is the honest voice of the people who choose cars, especially those who considered a model but walked away. That insight is hard for any automaker to see.
SEGMENT·SCOPE brings together model benchmarks and the voices of owners, people who chose not to buy, and reactions to new ideas, and shares them across brand lines. It exists not for any single company, but to close the gap between those who build cars and those who choose them, and to help make the whole industry exciting again.
SEGMENT·SCOPE is an independent project run by an individual and is not the official site of any automaker. For inquiries about the operator, please use the contact form.
This site is built and run as a personal project by someone with product planning experience at an automaker. It is published to share the competitive-analysis thinking used in product planning with industry professionals and car enthusiasts.
Vehicle specs and prices are taken from the specification and grade pages on each manufacturer's official website and from new-car catalog sites. Data is collected with Python scraping scripts and Playwright and updated monthly.
Equipment data combines information from manufacturers' official equipment lists with estimates based on typical equipment for models in the same segment. Models that include estimates are flagged in the “Data Sources” section of each comparison page.
ADAS (advanced driver assistance) function levels are set independently by the operator based on manufacturers' technical explanations and vehicle reviews; they are not official manufacturer ratings.
Applying for an idea call needs no sign-in, and applications are never linked to accounts. Organizers receive aggregated results only, and groups with fewer than 5 respondents are hidden. Respondents sign in to prevent duplicate answers; the email they sign in with is never published alongside their answers or shared with call organizers or any other company.
We do not give data individually or preferentially to any company or organization, including any company the operator is connected with, and we do not sell data. The details and limits of how this works are on the Anonymity & Data page.
🔒 Anonymity & Data →Built with Next.js 16, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS, and deployed on Vercel. Data is collected with Python (Playwright, pdfplumber).
We strive to keep the information on this site accurate, but we do not guarantee its accuracy, completeness or timeliness. Always base final decisions on purchases or negotiations on each manufacturer's official website and authorized dealers.
The operator accepts no liability for any damage arising from the use of this site.
